Craven County intends to apply for Community Development Block Grant Coronavirus (CDBG-CV).
The CDBG-CV Program, administered by the NC Division of Rural Economic Development, is designed to help units of government prevent, respond to, and prepare for the health and economic impacts of COVID-19, while benefiting primarily low-to-moderate-income persons. Public service activities which serve individuals or families impacted by coronavirus may include subsistence payments; employment training; testing and diagnosis; equipment, supplies, and materials; food distribution; health services; mental health services; broadband and communications support; and services for special needs populations. Public facility activities which support individuals or groups impacted by or serving those with coronavirus may include acquisition, construction, reconstruction or installation of public works, facilities, and site improvements; rehabilitation of building and improvements; and/or broadband and communications support. Economic development assistance projects are also available in conjunction with one or more existing private for-profit small businesses that undertakes CDBG-CV eligible activities.
