Notice of Public Meetings on “Sound Attenuation near Air Station Facilities”
The Eastern Carolina Council of Governments (ECCOG) in cooperation with area local governments will be holding a series of meetings on “Sound Attenuation”, with the first group of three occurring Wednesday June 12th and Thursday June 13th at the following times and locations.
- New Bern @ 1:00pm on the 12th at the First Presbyterian Church Session House, 400 New Street, New Bern, NC
- Havelock @ 5:30pm on the 12th at the Havelock City Hall Auditorium, 1 Governmental Avenue, Havelock, NC
- Emerald Isle @ 10:00am on the 13th at the Emerald Isle Police Department Board Room, 7500 Emerald Drive, Emerald Isle, NC
Attendees will hear a presentation from ECCOG staff and an insulation industry representative, followed by a time for questions and answers. Questions and ideas shared by those in attendance will be used in the development of recommendations on the mitigation of noise impacts on residential areas while insuring the preparedness and future of air station facilities in our area.
Funding for this series of Joint Land Use Studies (JLUS) implementation meetings is being provided by Carteret County through a grant from the U.S. Office of Economic Adjustment (OEA).
