Fair Housing Survey
Craven County is conducting a survey as part of its obligation in receiving Community Development Block Grant funding from the NC Department of Commerce, Rural Economic Development Division. This survey is part of the County’s efforts to obtain feedback from the public regarding fair housing and housing discrimination issues.
Federal and state housing laws prohibit discrimination in the sale, rental, and financing of dwellings, and in other real estate-related transactions because of race, color, religion, sex, familial status, national origin, or disability. As a recipient of Community Development Block Grant funding, the County is committed to addressing any housing discrimination issues that may arise.
Housing discrimination complaints can be reported to (252) 636-6618 (local) or NC Human Relations Commission at (919) 733-7996, TDD# (919) 733-7996.
